The envelope gives off a scent that is unpleasant to the cat in order to dissuade from scratching the couch. It is a blend of essential oils in synergy with each other. By the diffusion of the special Spicy Orange fragrance, the envelope develops olfactory areas where cats does not want to stay and would look for other, more comfortable areas.
The envelope is made from cellulose, and the granular support of the fragrance is a MICA, a natural mineral.
